so why not give you a good, special, amazing, beautiful, must-see shop in my country,

in case you're visiting..

a store in amsterdam, with a french denim touch; tenue de nimes.

tenue de nimes is located at elandsgracht 60, amsterdam

they have a webshop, and, what i like most, is there 'journal de nimes'

just a little something about them;

'Tenue de Nîmes represents a natural blend of carefully selected items that all enrich life in one way or another. Although the store unites several unique items ranging from vintage US army watches and Persol sunglasses to photography and design, the shop's primary focus is on denim. Everything between the walls of the denim inspired boutique is interconnected and has an underlying link to the heritage of jeans. Tenue de Nîmes claims to have a pair of jeans for anyone, male or female'

who are you?

let me introduce to you; Ingrid van den Brand;

a dutch woman, an artist, a spring-loving-girl, an oldfashion postcardlover.

-but..who doesn't love to receive postcards?

most of the time you can find her in her studio where she makes the most wonderfull drawings, photo's and embroidery.

-i just love the thread on paper postcards!

good, special, amazing, beautiful, must-see shop of this week,

conceptstore; playtype.

playtype is located at Værnedamsvej 6, Copenhagen

and will be open for exactly one year-

from december 1st 2010 to december 1st 2011

originally playtype comes from the Danish typeface designers e-Types.

they have opened a shop where customers can buy digital fonts in a physical space.

you can also find posters, t-shirts and homeware decorated with letters.

designstudio 'Vij5' has presented in Milan the first prototypes, of the NewspaperWood collection, a selection will be included in the Vij5 collection.

a little bit more about the material, because it's such a great idea;

every day, piles of newspapers are discarded and recycled into new paper. Mieke Meijer has devised a solution to use this surplus of paper into a renewed material. when a NewspaperWood log is cut, the layers of paper appear like lines of a wood grain or the rings of a tree and therefore resembles the aesthetic of real wood. the material can be cut, milled and sanded and generally treated like any other type of wood

a woman, who is inspired by nature, in many different ways. somebody who loves all things beautiful and find the most wonderful things in life in the tiny daily pleasures,

- and thats what i like!

her blog, my black book, is her little world of bliss, a mingle-mangle of marvelous things that make life so worth living and sumptuous to her.
